Sweaty palms - not just from having kids
Imagine dipping your hands into warm water and then immediately pulling them out and give someone a handshake. That´s my every day life, except for the water part ... In my case it is sweat and it is a tad worse than water, especially for me. I suffer from something called hyperhidrosis. But there´s hope! I have read about a treatment so I can get rid of my sweaty palms for good, and my kids can no longer run away from me due to hands being slippery (giggles).
What is hyperhidrosis?
Well, excessive sweating is another word for it and it is not caused by heat or exercise. This means my hands can start sweating at any time, and they do! The upside is that I can hold plants not having to water them, downside is - everything else! I hate it to be honest.
There is no cure for this yet, but there are treatments. This means I hopefully no longer need to carry loads of paper towels around, and no longer need to stretch my hands up in the air in hope of air drying them.
The treatment I am about to try is called iontophoresis. Short story behind it is something like this:
- An iontophoresis machine send electrical currents through water in which I have my hands.
Simple as that! Two small tubs, an iontophoresis machine and tap water is all I need. And I am almost sure I won´t get electrocuted either.
